George III Style Hepplewhite Water Gilded Mirror
This beautiful George III-inspired Hepplewhite-style water gilded mirror was hand-carved from solid mahogany and then water gilded at our Devon workshops using 23¾ carat gold leaf. It also features intricate hand-painted detailing in a period-appropriate color.
A true testament to the skill of highly specialized artisans worldwide, this traditional mirror embodies the finest craftsmanship.
The Hepplewhite-inspired design showcases a pierced cresting with wheat and flower-filled shells, draped with leafy festoons and interspersed with flower heads. Inner beaded mouldings frame the glass, complemented by a ribbon-tied fan and wheat apron at the base.
Known for its delicate features, Hepplewhite furniture is lighter and more refined compared to the earlier Queen Anne and Chippendale styles.
