The Mahogany Serpentine Bedside

A mahogany bombé bedside chest of drawers from the Althorp Living History Collection, inspired by original George III designs, circa 1770, and crafted in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. This elegant piece features a molded rectangular top above a traditional brushing slide, offering both aesthetic charm and practical use.

Beneath are three shaped, serpentine-fronted drawers, graduated in size and adorned with finely cast brass escutcheons and classic drop handles—hallmarks of refined 18th-century craftsmanship. The chest rests on a sturdy plinth base with ogee bracket feet, adding to its graceful silhouette and period character.

Perfect as a statement bedside piece or accent cabinet, this design captures the timeless elegance and superior detail associated with the Althorp Living History Collection, which draws inspiration from the historic interiors of Althorp House and is endorsed by Earl Spencer.
