Water Gilded Overmantel Mirror
This Water Gilded Overmantel Mirror is based on an original design from our archives, originating from Biggs of Maidenhead, the antique specialists run by our family since 1866. We have drawn inspiration from the original detailed drawings and photographs preserved over the years.
The frame is hand-carved from solid mahogany and water gilded in 23-carat gold leaf, achieving a ‘bright and matte’ effect. Highlighted areas are burnished with an agate stone, with slight distressing for added character.
The frame features decorative C-scrolls, elegant trailing leaves, and is crowned with an ornate oval mirror surrounded by acanthus leaves.
The Water Gilded Overmantel Mirror would make a magnificent centerpiece in any home.
