The original mirror, dating from around 1840, was valued between $70,000 and $80,000 in April 2008.
Thomas Johnson, a notable British carver, designer, and gilder, was born in London and fully embraced the rococo style. His designs were often more elaborate than those of his contemporaries, showcasing a refined attention to detail.
The mirror surround is adorned with a rich blend of C-scrolls, flowering branchwork, acanthus leaves, and intricate depictions of animals and figures.
Whether placed in a grand living room or an elegant hallway, this stunning Thomas Johnson style mirror with an antique finish will undoubtedly serve as a captivating centrepiece, enhancing the beauty and character of any space.
