Early George III Giltwood Mirror
Circa. 1760 – Original Antique
Introducing a magnificent Early George III giltwood mirror in the Chinese Chippendale style, a distinguished antique from our Biggs Antique Collection at Brights of Nettlebed. Dating back to the early years of the George III era, this exquisite mirror is a true collector’s piece, celebrating the fusion of English craftsmanship with the influence of Eastern design.
The mirror features an additional plate set within an ornate frame of foliate C-scrolls, swags, and rocaille, all exquisitely carved and enhanced by a re-gilt finish. At the top, an oriental gentleman seated in a pagoda, flanked by flowering urns, adds a striking decorative touch that embodies the Chinoiserie aesthetic of the period.
Whether displayed in a stately home or as a statement piece in a more contemporary setting, this remarkable mirror brings a sense of grandeur and historical charm to any interior.
