Chippendale 18th Century Style Overmantel Mirror

This hand-carved giltwood Chippendale 18th Century Style Overmantel Mirror draws inspiration from an 18th-century fireplace design. First featured in “The Chippendale Director,” first published in 1754.

Expertly hand-carved in laminated mahogany, the mirror is oil gilded in metal leaf with a partial white background. The frame is adorned with C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and topped with two Ho Ho birds flanking a pagoda. Thomas Chippendale’s designs became iconic, influencing furniture styles across Europe.

This stunning piece is a magnificent addition to any home.
